Project Manager
Austin is a 3rd year Business Economics major at UCLA and acted as the Project Manager for this project. Austin oversaw the team’s communication, meetings, and individual tasks, helping to establish clarity between team members and the University staff.
Web Specialist
Shanie is a 3rd year Cognitive Science major at UCLA and was the web specialist for this project. She was in charge of overseeing the design and structure of the site as well as organizing the host website. She also worked with the content management system and HTML files to ensure that the site performed to the team’s specifications and updated as needed.
Content Specialist
Dianne is a 4th Communications major at UCLA and was the Content Specialist. She oversaw the overall narrative, ensuring that written content, data visualizations, and site images integrated. She also organized the “about” page and wrote section headers and descriptions.
Mapping Specialist
Mariah is a 3rd year Communications major at UCLA and served as the mapping specialist for this project. She was in charge of cleaning the geographic data, geolocating the data, and compiling this information into two comprehensive maps for the website.
Jiamin is a 4th year Anthropology major at UCLA. She was the Data Visualization Specialist for this project. She oversees the project’s data visualizations by ensuring that the team is using the appropriate data in the right format.
Data Specialist
Jessie is a 3rd Economics major at UCLA and was the Data Specialist. She cleaned the dataset so that it would be in the correct format for generating visualizations. She also aided in creating visualizations and wrote corresponding descriptions to aid viewers in understanding the data.
